BACKGROUND

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a holiday celebrated on the 1st and 2nd of November. It originated and is mostly observed in Mexico <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico> but also in other places, especially by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere. The holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died.

DISCUSSION

A small community group led by Taco Jane’s owner Matteo Boussina is interested providing a dance performance by a local Aztec Dance group. The proposed location in Imagination Park and the proposed date is Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

The attached application provides details of the events with comments and conditions from Town staff.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact to the Town in approving this request.
